Insane weekends

Every weekend I have spent in Dubai has been endless fun (...except for the hangovers). The nightlife here is awesome, so many clubs to go to with all different types of music. and the parties arnt just limited to the night either, actually i'd say the parties are even better in the day!! I want to tell you about my weekend two weeks ago...It was just amazing. We started off at Habtoor Hotel XL Beach club for a pool party. Chilling by the pool with all the girls, suns out, music playing, attractive people in every direction and free unlimited drinks! Being a girl in Dubai certainly has its advantages! The pool party ended up being an all day all night event - we left the pool early evening to go back to our apartments and change, then back to the hotel for a meal and back to the pool area to continue the drinks and dancing! Such an awesome day! The next day we were invited to watch the Silver Cup Polo Championships which was so lovely. I'd never been to a polo game before so was pretty snazzy to be chauffeured there and back with all my girlfriends. Later in the evening we went to a sushi restaurant just behind the Sheikh Zayed road called Zuma which was faaaaaabulous. We had endless cocktails and the chefs selection of sushi and after the meal we all went to a club called Crystal in a porsche! Crystal was super packed but we had a table and drinks so i was just happy enough dancing! It was pretty crazy I'm not used to nights like this! But i could certainly get used to it haha!  Oh yeah and also we went to an after party at the Ritz! All the clubs in Dubai close at 3am. Its pretty annoying its so early but everyone just seems to go back to each others apartments for after parties so its alright in the end! The Ritz was great our 'aquaintance' (ha) had a suite so we continued the drinking and ordered a load of room service!! You'd think that that weekend would be hard to top but this weekend was just as fun! I went to Zinc the Thursday night, to Barasti Beach with all my batch mates on Friday,  Dinner at Buddha Bar in the evening drinking endless Moet, followed by Embassy nightclub and back to the after party in a suite at the Grosvenor House! I also went to the Palm for the first time this weekend to Atlantis and this great beach club called Nasimi Beach (it was like Nikki Beach in St Tropez, everything white and just cool as fuck). Later on in the day i met up with my bestie and went shopping at the Emirates mall and bought a few things in the Zara sale! Another perfect weekend then it was back to the aviation college for the Noujoum Day 'Star Day' in Arabic... (don't ask ha), Image and uniform day and security training. Alotta lotta fun! My final day of security training is tomorrow then I'm on my final two week stint of service training!! Then thats it!!! I'll be cabin crew flying the sky, isn't that marvellous/crazy?! Cant wait :) x

I'm a Flight Attendent in training :) last four months I did my internship on board as a Service Attendent (so a flight attendent but without anything of the safety, just the service and everything like that)of a Dutch Airline and now I have to go back to school unfortunately. In august I have my Initial and in oktober I will be back as a flight attendent. I found your blog because I was searching for blogs about Emirates. I really love to see the A380 take flight from Schiphol :) and i just love to read the adventures of other flight attendents :)

    1. How exciting! No its not necessary to bring your own bedding (emirates provides white bedding) but i brought with me my own one to make my bedroom more homely. or you can always buy one from ikea or something! But money is tight whilst we are still training ha! You get given an advance the first day of college so you have enough to live on but i brought with me about £200 extra which i did end up needing over the last month (i like to shop!).
Yes i brought a mixed wardrobe with me, dubai in January is much cooler than i thought it would be, i didn't bring enough jeans for in the evening (but you won't need to worry about this as your coming in April) and i also bought a new coat in the january sales here. you fly to europe a lot and its really cold so you need a winter wardrobe as well as a summer one!
Im not completly sure about the vaccinations so don't want t give your the wrong advice, but i know you can have some here. Personally i would recommend you get them done in your home country as the vaccination cost will come out of your salary and trust me you'll need all your salary for other things! also the vaccinations can take a long time to complete and whilst in training you are very busy..you don't want to be visiting the clinic all the time! its just an effort! plus you won't have the time! Hope this helps!! and good luck!!

  6. Hi!! I'm with the other readers, your blog is so helpful and inspiring. I have just applied online and the open day is in two weeks from now. I am 90% ready to go for it, but I need some advice. I'm in a three year happy relationship and we are living together. If you hadve been in the same situation, would you still recommend just going for it? Do you meet people while you're traveling?! I'm scared I will give it all up to become lonely, but that's my only fear. Pathetic I know! Thank you heaps in advance, Alice xx
